THE FOREST HOUSE !!! My Rumah Hutan Bonda Rozita Experience

Rumah hutan bonda rozita di batang kali malaysia spa rumah urut di atas bukit

Rumah Hutan? Rumah Terapi Alam? Never heard of it till my mom brought it up!
A traditional spa house, in the forest, on top of a hill... sounds like a heavenly getaway!

"Rumah Hutan" means "Forest House" in English, like its name suggests, the place is located in the middle of the forest in Batang Kali, Malaysia. Surrounded with the greens and sounds of the forest, along with the Modern Kampung houses, its a chance for us to get a glimpse of the kampong life!

Head over to their insta and websites ( Spa / Homestay ) to read about what they do and offer!

if you're tired of reading, watch my vlog instead 😂

To be clear, Rumah Hutan and Rumah Sungai are 2 different sections of the whole "Rumah Terapi Alam". At the moment, Rumah Hutan is where the Massage house and the Restaurant are located. Also, Rumah Hutan is filled with unique "modern kampung" houses if you wish to spend the night.

On the other hand, Rumah Sungai has its houses by the river where you could swim in!! Recently I've heard that even if you staying at Rumah Hutan, you can still swim there too. The river is surely not to be missed !!Soooooo you have to choose between the two sites if you're planning to stayover!!
Modern Kampung with the view... OR... The house by the river!!😍

Rumah Sungai

We stayed the night at Rumah Sungai as the family's massage appointments were rather early in the morning the next day. We went during the peak period so we didn't have much choice and we happen to grab the  Kemboja Room. The rooms are rather beautifully decorated as it was actually meant for the newlyweds but we didn't know that when we're booking! Nevertheless, we loved the room!
Nature lovers, adventurers, and campers would totally love this site!

The best thing about it is the RIVER !!!! the river is rather clean, the water is clear and cold. The sound of the water flowing is soooo therapeutic to my ears !!! I appreciate these little things more as there are no such sites in Singapore sooooo I enjoyed every bit of it! You can bring your kids tooo !! Do bring food and snacks as there are no shops nearby! You would have to drive out to get food!

My verdict:
Homestay                  - 8/10
Bathroom                 - 9/10
River Experience     - 10/10

Rumah Hutan

Early in the morning, we leave for Rumah Hutan for the massage and FOOD! We got a complimentary lunch for staying over! The lunch was simple yet tasty! They serve Kampong style food, I'd recommend the grilled Talapia fish! Also, you will definitely love their Sambal Belacan!!

Personally, I didn't go for the massage but all of my family did, they really enjoyed it and would love to come back!! For me, The best thing about this site is the VIEW! I get to relax and embrace the breeze while waiting for them !!

Those modern kampung houses were rather breathtaking !! kinda have that 'Bali vibe'. #instaworthy💪 Hope to come back and stay at Rumah Hutan next time!

⭐Tips!!
Do note that this place is rather new and still expanding.

  • To travel up to Rumah Hutan, you would have to queue for the shuttle jeeps to take you from one place to another. These processes do take time so be patient okay. The Restaurant at Rumah Hutan is open for public and so there is always a crowd, thus a long queue for the shuttle jeeps.
  • I'd recommend going during an off-peak period or be an early bird and go early in the morning 😂
  • Drive route may be tricky so drive safe!
  • If you're staying over bring a jacket! its really cold when night falls !!!
