My Houseplant Journal as a Beginner

I've always wanted to have some real plants in the house, I've owned quite a few artificial plants for decor but I'm missing the "gardening experience."😂

Ironically, the haze that hit us earlier this month became the push for us to have houseplants. I saw an article about how having indoor plants can better circulate the air and provide oxygen. Even though they did mention that it only works if there are more plants in the room, I just love the idea of it. I was doubtful at first as I have no idea how to care for plants... I don't want it to die on me cos... it's kinda living.💓

The fact that IKEA is just at the back of our house makes it the perfect place for us to get our first houseplant. There were many choices and we ended up getting a parlour palm and a mini snake plant.
I was beyond excited to see them grow.

Its been a week now and I've been observing of course. I've been watering once a day for both of them but I noticed several changes of the palm leaves.

Parlour Palm 22/09/19

week 1
Some tips of the leaves got darker and some areas are slightly turning yellowish.
Did I water too much? Currently, I'm watering less and see if it changes anything.

week 3
The lower bunch became dry :(

Snake Plant 22/09/19 - 4/2/2020

week 1
I'm so glad that the snake plant is staying fresh and I saw a new baby leaf growing 💓
No problems so far.

5/2/2020
Lower leaves became dry and affect the roots. Plant is dead. 😢
